Terrestial Orchids

Terrestial orchids grows in the wild in Hawaii. The one in the picture is called Spathoglottis Bulbosa. It is considered a terrestial orchid because it can grow in the soil not like other orchids which are aerial or epiphytes.
They grow in loam or sandy soil with good drainage and enriched with either compost, well rotted manure or peat. They do well in partial sun or dappled shade. They need a balance fertilizer maybe once a month.
They flower during the summer months and the flowers range in different colors from white to yellow to pink and to a deep purple color or magenta. They even have peach or apricot color.
The leaves are dark green and pleated and almost look like palm tree leaves.
