Pumpkin/Kalabasa

This is the pumpkin now after I helped it to be pollinated (notice I have also long beans in the same trellis). Two weeks after I hand-pollinated the female pumpkin flower, it has grown and almost ready to be picked. That’s one of the things that keep me going when it comes to gardening. Patience is the by-word and the virtue you have to abide by if you’re a real gardener. It also affirmed that when you sow something, you will harvest something. I like the idea of harvesting the fruit of your labor. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and inner happiness plus something good to eat.
Pumpkin is full of flavor and nutrients. I like it for the beta-carotene. My eyesight is not that good anymore and beta carotene would help I know.
